About This Event

To save land, you need relationships, you need trust, you need a vision — and you need money. As one land trust leader put it, “Land is a problem that money can solve.”

A lot of us find fundraising a challenge. Part of it is that we just don’t like to ask for money. But, at its best, fundraising is about more than going after money. If you want to have more fun — and more success — with fundraising, remember that you’re giving people the chance to invest in their values and realize their dreams.

But there’s still the million-dollar question: How do you raise money?

The Land Trust Alliance is excited to provide a new short course for land trusts in the southeast to learn how to build a strategic fundraising program. Over the course of three 90-minute sessions, we’ll cover:

  • Basic fundraising concepts and planning protocols.

  • Tools to develop strategic fundraising plans.

  • Different approaches to fundraising.

  • Strategies to stimulate planned giving and recurring giving.

  • And more!

The three-session virtual training series will take place Feb. 14, Feb. 21 and March 6 from 10:30 a.m. to noon Eastern.

In the weeks following the workshops, we will also hold two optional peer calls on March 27 and April 24 to discuss your fundraising program and answer questions. This training is being led by David Allen of Development for Conservation.

Participants in Land Trust Alliance events should review and agree to the Alliance Code of Conduct.

Can’t make one of the dates? All registrants will receive recording links within a week after each session.

Thanks to generous funding from supporters, we are able to deliver this training at a reduced cost of $75 for Land Trust Alliance members. Estimated value is $195 per person.
