A safe, welcoming and inclusive training space is our priority. By attending any Alliance event, you accept and agree to comply with the Code of Conduct below, which expresses what the Land Trust Alliance requires from virtual and in-person event participants. We will continue to adapt this Code based on feedback and experiences. Please send comments and suggestions to training@lta.org

Land conservation is at its best and most enduring when it engages, includes and benefits all people. Everyone deserves to feel safe and that they belong — on the land, in the conservation sector and at Alliance events.

To that end, the Alliance is dedicated to providing a professional, harassment-free learning experience for everyone, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, parental status, or physical appearance. We further commit to ensuring safety and inclusion at our trainings and events and to delivering a welcoming and fulfilling experience.

Therefore, all attendees at an Alliance event (including speakers, volunteers, partners, vendors and Alliance staff) are required to conduct themselves with integrity, courtesy and respect for others and in furtherance of professionalism. All communication and conduct should be appropriate for a professional setting. Inappropriate physical or verbal conduct, harassment, insult or defamation in any form are not tolerated at Alliance events.

Violations of this Code of Conduct may be reported to training@lta.org. All reports will be handled with as much confidentiality as possible to protect privacy and anonymity. When a report is received, the Alliance will acknowledge receipt and work to address it as soon as possible through our response team.

The Alliance will take all action it deems necessary and appropriate to maintain a welcoming and safe environment for all participants. The Alliance will conduct a thorough and respectful investigation to determine the appropriate course of corrective action. The Alliance’s response to any observed or reported violation of this Code of Conduct is at the Alliance’s sole discretion and may include warnings, removal from the current event, or a ban from future Alliance events, depending on the severity of the violation. The Alliance and our security personnel (for in-person events) may, at our and their discretion, remove any attendee at any time and without notice based on a determination that the attendee is violating this Code of Conduct. Appropriate participants will be informed of the steps being taken to address any Code of Conduct violation, ensuring transparency and building trust in our commitment to a respectful and inclusive environment.

Thank you for helping to create welcoming and safe training experiences for all.
