As rain events increase in intensity in some areas and decrease in frequency in others, improving soil quality in ways that reduce erosion and increase water retention will yield increasingly important outcomes. Installing cover crops is one way to achieve those objectives. Doing so also boasts the co-benefits of reducing nutrient and sediment loss, enhancing water quality.
