    The Network for Landscape Conservation Catalyst Fund

    The Network for Landscape Conservation is pleased to request proposals for the 2025 funding round of the Catalyst Fund.

    The purpose of the Catalyst Fund is to accelerate the pace and practice of landscape conservation and stewardship across the United States. The Fund makes strategic investments in strengthening the collaborative capacity of place-based, community-grounded Landscape Partnerships.

    Through generous support from the Doris Duke Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Catalyst Fund will distribute approximately $400,000 this year through competitive grants to landscape partnerships that stand at pivotal points in their development. Funded partnerships will also be invited to participate in a two-year peer learning program.

    A portion of the Catalyst Fund is dedicated to supporting Indigenous leadership in landscape conservation and stewardship. We especially invite Partnerships that are led by Tribes and/or Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities to apply.

    This year we are piloting an opportunity for qualifying landscape partnerships to request additional support—on top of what they request from the Catalyst Fund—to undertake climate-informed conservation planning. More information on this pilot opportunity to align these two programs is captured in the Catalyst Fund RFP and applicant guidance document.

    At a moment of uncertainty in the conservation and stewardship field, we believe the from-the-bottom-up community-grounded landscape partnerships that the Catalyst Fund supports are critical mechanisms for sustaining this important work. It is incredibly inspiring to know that in landscapes across the country, there are collaborative spaces that are allowing folks to come together to find connection, resilience, hope and pathways forward through the turmoil in their efforts to chart positive trajectories for the places and communities that they care about.
