People v. Trump
About This Legal Opinion
November 2025 Update: A five-judge panel of the intermediate appellate could not agree on any specific outcome of the overall case. Two of the judges affirmed the holding with respect to liability for business fraud, including the overvaluation of Mar-a-Lago. But they also agreed that the fine imposed by the trial court was excessive. Meanwhile, two other judges found that the trial court incorrectly ruled that Trump committed fraud, and that the case should be retried. However, these two judges joined the decision to allow the case to proceed on appeal to the state's highest court.
