About This News Article

Maryland joined 21 other states that have enacted a version of the Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act. The goal of the legislation is to help Maryland families preserve their wealth and legacies in the form of real property that can be passed on to the next generation. The law affects both urban and rural families, and could help owners of heirs’ property protect and manage the land they own in Maryland.
