About This Report / White Paper

Helping Your Woodland Adapt to a Changing Climate summarizes the drivers, impacts, and forest adaptation responses to climate change. The resource is focused on forests in Maryland, though its tenets are applicable more broadly. As climate impacts intensify, the economic returns of forests may be compromised. This report makes the case that many adaptation approaches are already an integral part of responsible forest stewardship, in addition to providing added co-benefits such as ensuring continued carbon sequestration, enhancing habitat, and improving timber values.
