Entity Certification is a tool established through the 2008 Farm Bill with the intent to streamline the implementation of entity-held conservation easements. Accredited or well-qualified land trusts can apply for certified entity status if they meet the eligibility requirements and have a solid track record of handling conservation easement projects using Agricultural Conservation Easement Program-Agricultural Land Easement Program or predecessor programs. Join NRCS expert Lisa McCauley for a breakdown of the entity certification program. You’ll learn how to determine if this tool is right for your land trust, what the requirements are and how to work with NRCS state staff to apply and create a strong request package.
