About This Report / White Paper
Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment (CCVA) for Natural Resources Management: Toolbox of Methods with Case Studies is a publication that aims to provide examples of assessment methodologies and case studies to help readers determine (1) if further investigation of a tool or case study is warranted; and (2) find additional resources about that tool/case study. Resource-specific CCVA methods discussed include (1) species; (2) habitats; (3) places (protected areas, watersheds, landscapes); (4) ecosystem processes; (5) ecosystem services; (6) water resources; and (7) coastal resources. The guide recommends that readers consult the comprehensive publication Scanning the Conservation Horizon (Glick et al. 2011), for an introduction to climate change vulnerability assessment and questions to ask in deciding which tool to use. USFS plans to update these guides regularly as new methods and case studies are published.
