Description
The Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund (DWGTF) - Source Water Protection (SWP) program is administered by the NH Department of Environmental Services (NHDES). The SWP program offers competitive grants to permanently protect high-priority drinking water supply lands in New Hampshire. Grants are available to cover up to 50% of total projects costs up to a maximum of $500,000 per project. Municipalities, public water systems and organizations with conservation as one of its goals are eligible to apply. Projects must contain "high-priority water supply lands", which are defined by NHDES as wellhead protection areas, hydrologic areas of concern and/or high-yield stratified drift aquifers, classified as GA2.
