In 2021, the Land Trust Alliance, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy in California, launched a new grant program to support land trusts in exploring how remote monitoring technologies can help to enhance their stewardship work. Since 2021, the Alliance has supported 42 land trusts with $435,890 in grants to allow these nonprofit land conservation organizations to identify and implement the best solutions to monitor land in their care using tools such as satellite imagery and machine learning.
