Give a boost to conserved land landowners during the holidays
Check out your local land trust and explore gifts perfect for anyone who wants to support local businesses, support land conservation and find unique holiday gift ideas!
In Colorado, we have a robust community of land trusts, with thousands of conservation easements covering more than three million acres of conserved land. Many of the owners of conserved land are small business owners as well. Colorado Open Lands, which works to protect land and water for people and wildlife, wanted to help those landowners bring their goods, services and outdoor experiences to a larger market. The result is the Conserved Colorado Holiday 2023 Guide.
Colorado Open Lands publishes a version in summer and another in winter for holiday gift shopping. We’ve divided it into regions, making it easy for users to see what’s in their immediate area and what new places they can discover when they’re traveling around the state. The guide also features stories from different landowners that go into detail about their products, processes and conservation philosophies.
Products featured include meat, eggs and dairy; wool and fiber; spices and grains; jams, jellies and honey; alcohol and spirits, and much more. Experience offerings include unforgettable Colorado adventures like stays at guest ranches, fly fishing and outdoor education opportunities, as well as public open space trails that are protected under conservation easement.
This guide is perfect for anyone who wants to support local businesses, support land conservation and find unique holiday gift ideas from all over Colorado.
