In Colorado, we have a robust community of land trusts, with thousands of conservation easements covering more than three million acres of conserved land. Many of the owners of conserved land are small business owners as well. Colorado Open Lands, which works to protect land and water for people and wildlife, wanted to help those landowners bring their goods, services and outdoor experiences to a larger market. Colorado Open Lands publishes a version in summer and another in winter for holiday gift shopping.
