Opacum Land Trust, Inc. is a 13-town regional land conservation organization formed in 2000 to protect natural and cultural resources in South Central Massachusetts. These non-renewable resources include fertile farmland, lush green forests, river corridors, wetlands and watersheds, vernal pools, habitat for endangered animals and plants, scenic vistas, and historic and prehistoric sites. We work in the towns of Brimfield, Brookfield, Charlton, East Brookfield, Holland, Monson, North Brookfield, Palmer, Sturbridge, Southbridge, Wales, Warren & West Brookfield. Our aim is to protect the New England charm and rural character of our communities, promote proactive conservation, and the creation of greenways and wildlife corridors. Opacum Land Trust is able to permanently protect open space through donation or purchase of land, bargain sales, or by holding a conservation easement.
