Pennsylvania county set to reach 125,000 acres of preserved farmland

“Lancaster County’s farmlands program is among the most active and successful, long running models of local land protection,” said Andrew Szwak, the mid-Atlantic program manager at the Land Trust Alliance. “There’s a real understanding and appreciation of the importance of farming — and the farmland that supports farming — in Lancaster that far outstrips what you see in other parts of the country.”
