DEC announces $1.35M available for land trusts to conserve private forests in New York

The state Department of Environmental Conservation announced Thursday that $1.35 million is available through the fifth round of its Forest Conservation Easements for Land Trusts grant program to help protect privately owned forestland. Grants are administered by the Land Trust Alliance in coordination with DEC; applicants must be accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
