St. Benedict’s Monastery was a place defined by quiet routines, agricultural labor and a spiritual life deeply intertwined with the Roaring Fork Valley. Today, more than 7,700 surrounding acres have been conserved through partnerships with Pitkin County Open Space, the Aspen Valley Land Trust and private landowners, creating a mosaic of protected ranchland that links the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness to valley-floor meadows.
