New conservation easement protects land, waterways in Newport Bay watershed

Queponco Farms, a 186-acre mix of cropland and woodland, is the latest property preserved through the Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation. Protecting the property is important because it has more than 80% prime agricultural soils, and is adjacent to an already protected forest.*
