Land trust protects hundreds of family-owned woodlands

For years, Ruth Norton and her five sisters knew they were going to fulfill the wishes of their parents — to preserve forever 430 acres of woodlands the family owned. In the family for four generations, the unique property is known for its mature forest, wetlands and a beaver pond on the eastern edge of Oneida Lake in the town of Vienna.
