Herkimer County forests get funding for conservation efforts

These funds are part of the Forest Conservation Easements for Land Trusts Grant Program, which supports the State's goal of conserving 30 percent of New York’s lands and waters by 2030. Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust projects in Herkimer County include conserving the 135-acre Kimak Forest and the 182-acre Grafer Forest in the Town of Russia. These efforts are part of a larger conservation initiative surrounding Hinckley State Forest.
