Forested properties near Ellison Bay now protected under Door County Land Trust easements

The two additional parcels now under the trust's care cover nearly 14 acres of mature mesic forest, bringing the total land under Schmitz's conservation easement agreements to about 18 acres. The forest within the newly protected parcels features beech, sugar maple, hemlock, red oak and white cedar trees and contribute to a larger wildlife corridor that helps allow native species to move safely through their natural habitat.
