Dawson Elk Valley Ranch conserved under Native stewardship

The vision is for the entire 50,000-acre parcel to be owned and managed by the Elk Valley Tribal Partnership, a coalition of Tribes and Nations with ancestral ties to the land. In a watershed moment for land management, an 18,000-acre conservation easement on the grassland portion of the ranch will be managed by the nation's first Land Trust Alliance-certified Indigenous land trust, soon to be formed.
