Conservation deal protects more than 4,000 acres of rural Beaufort County

The easement will ensure that the property’s diverse landscape, which includes 40 miles of river and marsh frontage, nine islands, hammock islands, historic rice fields, tidal marshes and approximately 1,300 acres of upland forest, will be protected from development in perpetuity.
