Buncombe County closes on Deaverview Mountain for future public park

Buncombe County has closed on the purchase of the 342-acre Deaverview Mountain property, slated to become a new public park that would be the largest in the county system. The acquisition will allow the county, in partnership with the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, to preserve this "significant natural asset."
