58-acre Wadmalaw Island farm permanently protected through conservation easement

A 58-acre working farm on Wadmalaw Island has been permanently protected through a conservation easement. Lowcountry Land Trust announced the protection of Newground, a farm that has historically supported strawberry and corn production. The property is currently leased to a farmer who grows corn for the local livestock feed market.
