Conservation Forester & Land Manager
The conservation forester and land manager works closely with the land and stewardship director to manage and steward fee-owned and easement lands held by Blue Hill Heritage Trust. This role plays a key part in maintaining the ecological health and long-term conservation value of the Trust’s properties. We work to conserve the farmland, forest, wetlands and wildlife habitat needed to sustain ecological and community health in a changing climate. Our goal is to protect the resources and sense of place upon which traditional livelihood depends, and to work with our communities to embrace a stewardship ethic.
The CFLM helps supervise staff and volunteers, develops and implements forest management plans for large forest holdings, and contributes to overall property management planning. Approximately 60% of this role is dedicated to forest management, with the remaining 40% focused on general stewardship activities. Specific time allocation is coordinated with the LSD. This position reports to the land and stewardship director and collaborates closely with the executive director, LSD and the stewardship and outreach associate.
