The Land Trust Alliance has helped fund the permanent protection of tens of thousands of acres of climate-critical lands. We also work with land trusts to identify and implement strategies to help communities prepare for and lessen current and future climate impacts.

The Land Trust Alliance is creating resources, partnerships, tools and science-based solutions to help land trusts understand and address the unique water challenges facing their communities, including pollution, drought and floods from extreme weather events.

The Alliance and its land trust members commit to conserve 60 million acres this decade. To that end, we secure federal funding and new supporters for conservation and ensure conserved lands serve all people.

As the national leader in conservation policy, standards, education and training, the Alliance ensures land trusts have the resources, information and support they need to operate legally, ethically and effectively – so they can save more land now and for future generations.

When a land trust acquires land, it commits to safeguarding it forever. The Alliance provides information, resources, support and guidance to help land trusts uphold that promise while staying on solid legal and financial ground.
