    Are you looking for ways to step up your leadership as a board member? Wondering how your peers in similar organizations work together to focus on mission and vision, understand and manage the broad range of organizational activity and plan for long term sustainability and succession? Hoping to understand how board process and dynamics impact these legal responsibilities of the board?

    Join us for this special program for land trust board members led by top land trust experts will provide ideas, tools, strategies and connections to help strengthen your organization and its governance.

    During this session you will:

    • Network with peers from across the region and nationwide.

    • Share ideas on issues relevant to your important leadership and governance role.

    • Sharpen your skills and forge solutions to specific challenges facing small or mid-sized land trusts.

    • Celebrate board leadership and the success of fellow volunteer board members.

    This Summit is happening at the Rhode Island Convention Center on Sept. 26 during Rally 2024: . We hope you can join us for both events — investing your time in this special session will provide excellent context and connections for the extensive range of opportunities throughout the Rally program! Light breakfast and lunch included.

    The Summit is $50 per person and pre-registration is required.

    This is only one event at Rally 2024 that you'll want to join us for! Rally is a great way for you to connect with fellow land trust board members from across the country, as well as other land conservation practitioners, to get to know all things conservation and learn how you can provide outstanding board service to your land trust. You'll also hear from inspiring speakers and you can choose from over one hundred 90-minute workshops to strengthen your skills in fundraising, organizational management, community engagement and more.

    Participants in Land Trust Alliance events should review and agree to the Alliance Code of Conduct.

    Registration instructions

    1. Click "Open Event."

    2. Sign in to the Resource Center register. The link is below the Register buttons to the right. The button will remain greyed out until you sign in. If you already receive emails from the Alliance, and you were invited to this event, you already have an account. Your user name is your email.

    3. Select your registration option of how you plan to attend Rally.

      1. a. If you only plan to attend the Board Summit and will not attend other events during Rally, please select the a la carte registration option, then select the Board Summit from the Program Items list.

      2. b. If you plan to attend Rally and the Board Summit, please select your registration option and then add your Program Items, one of which is the Board Summit.

      3. Tip: You can sort the long list of Program Items by Category to assist in locating Special Events such as the Board Summit by changing the sorting filter from the default ‘Day’ option to ‘Category.’ The filter menu sits at the top of the Program Items section, below the registration options.

    4. Answer provided questions, making sure to click the Save Responses button before proceeding!

    5. Proceed to Checkout.

    6. Click Submit to complete your registration.

    You will receive two emails within the hour providing a payment receipt and a registration confirmation.
