The objectives of the Norman Area Land Conservancy are to conserve, enhance and protect the rural and urban natural environments in and around Norman Oklahoma. These objectives include but are not limited to conserving and protecting a wide variety of environmental elements, including prime agriculture lands, grass and range lands, forest and wood lands, flood plains, wetlands and riparian corridors along the Canadian River and Little River and their tributaries, wildlife habitats, areas of unique scenic beauty for recreation, fragile environmental features and aquifer recharge areas that require special protection.
